Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!
Yes, that is me, many moons ago standing on top of the hill on the day I graduated from the University of Kansas. You might ask, what does this have to do with Ruff House Art or letterpress…well nothing really, but my Alma Mater is in the Final Four of the NCAA Basketball Tournament and that is worth celebration!
The closest KU got to a Championship while I was attending the University was the Final Four back in 2003. I have fond memories of running to the top of campus to celebrate with fellow Jayhawks! They were eliminated in this round in 2003 and the next time they were that close was 2008 when they went on to clench the championship. At this time, I was living in Colorado. I watched the game at home and am sure my neighbors thought I had gone insane as I screamed and celebrated that victory in Colorado. Since then, I have somehow made my way back to Lawrence and am excited to cheer on the Jayhawks in tonight’s game with the entire city. Of course I am biased, but I do believe the deep rooted traditions and spirit of the Jayhawks is unmatched by any other college.
So fellow Jayhawks across the country, stretch your arms around the Jayhawk next to you and sing with me:
“Far above the golden valley, glorious to view, stands our noble Alma Mater, towering toward the blue. Lift the chorus ever onward, crimson and the blue, hail to thee, our Alma Mater, hail to old KU. Rock Chalk Jayhawks. KU!!”
Help cheer the Jayhawks on to a KU Victory tonight so that the entire country knows what it means to Wave the Wheat!!

Hope they make it all the way! Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
